Since 2008, Reflections Publishing LLC has continued its dedication to creating health and well-being intervention curricula and resources. These
game-changing tools are effective for educators
in identifying at-risk students and directly contributing
to improving students’ short- and long-term
well-being outcomes.
In 2023, to address the youth mental health crisis, Reflections Publishing LLC created The Resilience Game Plan: The Playbook for Developing Cognitive, Communication, and Mindfulness Life Skills. This Harvard-developed, evidence-based intervention curriculum program teaches social, emotional, cognitive, and biological self-regulation skills to students, educators, medical personnel, and families. Additionally, our University of Oxford-created professional development training equips facilitators with the tips and tools they need to confidently identify at-risk adolescents and emerging young adults in our schools, medical facilities, and within our communities.
The Resilience Game Plan provides a social, emotional, cognitive, and biological self-regulation intervention curriculum for middle schools, high schools, and colleges to help students instill resiliency and a barrier of protection as they encounter difficulties throughout their lifetime.
The Resilience Game Plan provides a blueprint for therapists to work one-on-one with patients to quickly assess and meet clients where they are in their mental health journey.
The Resilience Game Plan provides
a roadmap for parents/guardians
to improve their family relationships
by learning cognitive, communication, and mindfulness skills right along with their children.
Life happens and when we hit bumps in the road, we all feel better when we have a game plan to help navigate our lives through any difficult life scenario. When tough situations happen, students get to feel their emotions and be upset; however, the end goal is for them to always be moving forward with a growth mindset and not to get stuck in any situation.
In The Resilience Game Plan (The RGP), when a difficult life situation hits, students train their brains to:
In The RGP, students will incorporate these three concepts tackling any life situation with the following Six Success Strategies:
In The RGP “What’s Your Game Plan” section, students will find many different life topics they may encounter during their lifetime. In order to successfully incorporate these concepts into their life, they need to turn these strategies into automatic habits.
Thus, students learn to train their brains to identify a situation and quickly process and move through any difficult life situation.
Students will be introduced to each life topic in the following way:

The U.S. Preventative Services Task Force recently issued an alert:
Research has shown that if mental health issues are not resolved and left untreated in adolescents, then the trajectory of a child’s brain development is altered; hence, this is a crucial time to identify at-risk youth and implement intervention strategies and hope for reversal of psychiatric symptoms. Since educators spend numerous hours with their students and most mental health disorders are often triggered during the puberty years, schools are in the best position to help identify at-risk youth and implement prevention and intervention techniques for early detection—potentially reversing any psychiatric symptoms. Additionally, school-based programs continue to be the channel showing the most promise and significant results in reaching the majority of adolescents while also identifying mental health disorders. Schools have the ability to focus on identifying at-risk youth while also adding social validity. Social validity is deemed a crucial key to the puzzle because for a school-based program to succeed, the surrounding community needs to place a value on the program’s recommended goals, methods, and outcomes. By supporting the feasibility, acceptability, and implementation of the program, it has long-term sustainability.
Reflections Publishing offers customized training sessions to meet the specific needs of your school district.
“Students are coming to our classrooms with more anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation than ever before. The rise in case is staggering and can cause life-altering or life-ending decision-making. The Resilience Game Plan (The RGP) should be an essential curricular resource in every school to help students change the trajectory of their mental health. By providing students an understanding of the brain, the importance of communication, and ways to develop new, valuable habits, The RGP supports students and the opportunity to navigate life successfully.”

“These are valuable information and exercises for not only adolescents, but just as importantly, for all adults who desire to become thriving individuals. Certainly, I recommend this curriculum for high school Life Studies/Advisory or even Diversity classes. These experiential activities allow us to see the diversity we all own as human beings, which may or may not depend on our ethnicity, race, or socio-economic status. I highly recommend that this curriculum be a part of all of our lives. We all need a game plan.”
- Dr. Randolph Ward, Ed.D., retired San Diego County Superintendent of Schools, Executive Director of Teaching for America
“The author of The Resilience Game Plan (The RGP) provides a compassionate workbook that tweens and teens will find helpful and fun to use. In an honest fashion, students are told life is not always easy, and they need a game plan to help them cope. The RGP
is a well-thought-out playbook that provides adolescents common sense life skills they will use for the rest of their life.”
- Paula A. Yohe, B.S.Ed., M.A.Ed., M.L.I.S., Director of Technology and Information Systems, Dillon School District IV, South Carolina
“The Resilience Game Plan (The RGP) is a key intervention tool administrators should implement in all 7th-12th grade homeroom
or advisory classrooms. It includes ‘Key Takeways’ to ensure students learn the crucial concepts. Also, learning about the brain and cognitive, communication, and mindfulness skills is extremely beneficial. Educators and administrators will find they will benefit emotionally right along with their students. The RGP comes with a facilitator’s guide to help support educators in using this workbook and identify at-risk students to help end self-harm cases in our schools. The RGP is backed by over 300 evidenced-based research articles, providing the most pertinent advice to best support educators and students.”
